Job Overview:
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Senior Sales Manager to drive sales growth within the aerospace and automotive component manufacturing sectors. The ideal candidate will possess a proven track record of success in developing and executing strategic sales plans, building strong customer relationships, and achieving revenue targets. This role requires a deep understanding of the technical requirements and market dynamics within these industries, coupled with exceptional leadership and communication skills.
Key Responsibilities:
- Strategic Sales Planning: Develop and implement comprehensive sales strategies to achieve revenue and market share objectives within the aerospace and automotive component manufacturing sectors.
- Business Development: Identify and pursue new business opportunities, including prospecting, lead generation, and proposal development.
- Customer Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with key decision-makers at existing and potential customers, including OEMs, Tier 1 suppliers, and aftermarket distributors.
- Technical Sales Expertise: Demonstrate a strong understanding of our products and services, and effectively communicate their technical benefits to customers.
- Market Analysis: Conduct thorough market research and analysis to identify trends, competitive landscape, and customer needs.
- Sales Forecasting and Reporting: Develop accurate sales forecasts and provide regular reports on sales performance, market trends, and competitive activities.
- Contract Negotiation: Negotiate and close complex sales contracts, ensuring favourable terms and conditions for the company.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate with engineering, production, and marketing teams to ensure seamless customer service and product delivery.
- Team Leadership (if applicable): Mentor and guide junior sales staff, fostering a high-performance sales culture.
- Travel: Willingness to travel extensively to customer sites, industry events, and trade shows.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, business administration, or a related field. (Master's degree preferred).
- 7-9 years of progressive sales experience in the aerospace and/or automotive component manufacturing industry.
- Proven track record of exceeding sales targets and building strong customer relationships.
- Deep understanding of the technical requirements and market dynamics within the aerospace and automotive sectors.
- Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes, materials, and quality standards.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills.
- Proficiency in CRM software and sales reporting tools.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong understanding of quality standards such as AS9100 and IATF 16949.
