Job Overview:
We are seeking a proactive and results-oriented PLC Programmer with a strong background in industrial automation and machinery. The ideal candidate will have 10 to 15 years of hands-on experience in programming, troubleshooting, and maintaining PLC systems, particularly in manufacturing or automotive environments. The PLC Programmer is expected to actively engage in daily operations, take ownership of assigned tasks, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless automation processes. This role demands a problem-solver who stays updated with the latest PLC technologies and is committed to optimizing system performance and ensuring minimal downtime.
Key Responsibilities:
- PLC Programming & Development: Design, program, and test PLC logic for automation systems using platforms such as Siemens, Allen-Bradley, Mitsubishi, or equivalent, ensuring efficient and reliable system operations.
- Control System Integration: Actively engage in the integration of PLCs with HMIs, SCADA, and other industrial control systems. Ensure seamless communication and system functionality across all interfaces.
- Troubleshooting & Maintenance: Diagnose and resolve PLC and control system issues in real time to minimize downtime. Provide technical support to production and maintenance teams.
- Continuous Improvement: Identify automation opportunities and implement control system improvements to enhance productivity, safety, and equipment reliability.
- Technical Documentation: Create and maintain detailed documentation for PLC programs, wiring diagrams, system configurations, and operational manuals.
- Collaboration with Cross-functional Teams: Work closely with design, mechanical, electrical, and production teams to understand requirements and develop control systems that meet functional and safety specifications.
- Testing & Commissioning: Participate in on-site commissioning, system validation, and functional testing of PLC-based systems for new installations or upgrades.
- Compliance & Safety: Ensure all control systems comply with industry standards, safety regulations, and internal engineering practices.
- Training & Knowledge Sharing: Support and train operators, technicians, and junior engineers on PLC system operation and troubleshooting techniques.
- Project Execution: Take ownership of automation-related tasks within larger engineering projects, ensuring timely delivery, adherence to scope, and high-quality execution.
- Performance Monitoring: Monitor and analyze the performance of automation systems, generate reports, and recommend optimization measures based on data insights.
Qualifications & Experience:
Education
Bachelor’s degree in Engineer or Diploma,
Experience
- Minimum of 10 to 15 years of experience in marketing, with at least 4+ years of experience in the automobile and/or machinery sectors.
Skills
- Strong knowledge of industrial automation systems, including PLCs, HMIs, SCADA, sensors, and actuators, with a solid understanding of machinery operations and control logic.
- Exceptional troubleshooting, diagnostic, and analytical skills for resolving real-time system issues under pressure.
- Proficiency in PLC programming environments (e.g., Siemens TIA Portal, Allen-Bradley RSLogix, Mitsubishi GX Works) and industrial communication protocols (e.g., Modbus, Profibus, Ethernet/IP).
- Excellent project execution skills with the ability to manage multiple control system tasks and meet tight deadlines in a manufacturing environment.
- Detail-oriented and methodical approach to programming, system optimization, and documentation, with a strong commitment to safety and quality standards.
