Job Overview:
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Sales Manager with a strong background in the aerospace and precision engineering industries. The ideal candidate will have 10 to 15 years of proven experience driving sales growth, managing key aerospace accounts, and leading high-performing sales teams. This individual will be responsible for overseeing aerospace sales operations, developing market entry and expansion strategies, and maximizing business opportunities within the aerospace and defense sectors.
Key Responsibilities:
Industry Expertise
- Prior experience in aerospace manufacturing, MRO (Maintenance, Repair, and Overhaul), components, or precision machinery is highly desirable.
- Familiarity with AS9100 quality systems, defense procurement processes, and aerospace customer requirements is an added advantage.
Sales Strategy Development
- Design and implement sales strategies to achieve revenue growth and market penetration within the aerospace and defense markets.
- Identify emerging opportunities in OEM, Tier-1, and Tier-2 aerospace suppliers and create targeted business plans to capture them.
Team Leadership
- Lead, coach, and motivate a dynamic sales team to deliver consistent results.
- Set clear performance objectives, provide regular mentoring, and ensure sales targets are achieved in line with corporate goals.
Business Development
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key aerospace clients, OEMs, system integrators, and government agencies.

Sales Target Management
- Establish and monitor quarterly and annual sales targets.
- Implement performance-tracking mechanisms and drive initiatives to ensure consistent achievement of business objectives.
Customer Relationship Management
- Act as the primary liaison for major aerospace accounts, ensuring superior customer satisfaction.
- Address client needs, provide technical and commercial support, and ensure long-term partnership development.
Sales Presentations & Negotiations
- Conduct technical and commercial presentations, product demonstrations, and client meetings.
- Lead contract negotiations ensuring alignment with company profitability, compliance, and regulatory requirements.
Market Research & Analysis
- Stay updated with aerospace market trends, competitive landscape, and emerging technologies.
- Provide management with actionable insights on market conditions, competitor performance, and customer needs.
Proposal & RFQ/RFP Management
- Analyze and respond to RFQs and RFPs from aerospace customers with detailed techno-commercial proposals.
- Collaborate with engineering and project management teams to ensure accurate and timely submissions.
Project Coordination
- Coordinate with the Project Management, Engineering, and Quality teams to ensure smooth project execution from proposal to delivery.
- Participate in customer visits, audits, and pre-delivery inspections (PDI) as required.
Commercial & Financial Management
- Follow up with customers on purchase orders, payments, and bank guarantees (ABG/PBG) in line with contract terms.
- Work closely with the Accounts and Finance teams to ensure proper financial closure of sales projects.
Collaboration with Internal Teams
- Represent the organization at aerospace exhibitions, trade shows, and defense expos.
- Network with potential clients, gather market intelligence, and promote the company’s products and capabilities.
Exhibitions & Industry Events
- Collaborate with Marketing, R&D, and After-Sales teams to support new product introductions, technical demonstrations, and post-sales services.
- Provide feedback on product performance, customization needs, and market demand to guide development efforts.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical and Electronics or any other related fields. A Master’s degree in Business Administration, Sales, Marketing or additional certifications in sales or business development is a plus.
- Indiamart Sales Management: Manage and optimize the company’s presence on Indiamart, ensuring timely and effective responses to inquiries, identifying sales leads, and converting them into business opportunities. Monitor and track performance on the platform to maximize results.
- Sales Strategy Development: Develop and implement comprehensive sales strategies for both Indiamart and traditional sales channels, aimed at expanding the customer base, increasing sales volume, and achieving revenue growth within the machinery and automobile sectors.
Skills:
- Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills.
- Strong leadership and team management abilities, with experience in mentoring and developing a sales team.
- Proficient in CRM tools (e.g., Salesforce, HubSpot, Indiamart) and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
- Deep understanding of the machinery and automobile sectors, including customer needs, market trends, and competitive landscapes.
- Ability to build and maintain long-term relationships with clients, driving repeat business and customer loyalty.
